Engineering (Dual-Degree)
Berry College maintains a dual-degree program with the College of Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. As its name suggests, the dual-degree program leads to two baccalaureate degrees – one from Berry and one from Georgia Tech.
The dual-degree program With the dual-degree program you can have the best of both worlds. You will gain the advantages and depth of a liberal arts education and acquire a world-class technical education. As a dual-degree engineering student, you will begin your college career at Berry and complete six semesters (approximately three years). Then you will continue at either Georgia Tech or Mercer for another two years (four – possibly five – additional terms). You will have the option of choosing or not choosing a major at Berry. At Berry your education will include at least 93 semester hours in courses that include communication, health and physical education, behavioral and social sciences, humanities and fine arts, and mathematics and natural sciences. For admission to Georgia Tech, Georgia residents must achieve a minimum Berry grade point average of 3.0. (The GPA should be higher for out-of-state students.) You also need specific courses in mathematics, computer science and the natural sciences, as well as several general courses.
